Daniel Clement Karma Teachers Faculty

Daniel Clement

Yoga to Daniel is inquiry. Yoga is the engagement of reason, compassion and physicality toward knowledge of what it means to be conscious, and to be happy.

Daniel has been teaching 200hr and 300hr yoga teacher trainings since 2006 in China, Japan and Canada, leading over 90 trainings and graduating over 1,000 teachers. His focus now is to encourage critical thinking and the teaching of safe and effective postural yoga within his own trainings. Manual therapy including Thai Yoga Massage techniques provide a sound basis for addressing injuries and physical complaints.

Kevin Naidoo

Kevin’s offerings are filled with devotion, ceremony and ritual and are shared with the intention of reclaiming our power, cultivating self-love and finding forgiveness in order to heal. His teachings pay homage to the sadhus, rishis and mystics and honour the tradition and ritualistic nature of the practice, gracefully reminding us all that we are part of something sacred, timeless and much greater than we know.

Blessed with the opportunity to study classical Hatha with the Sivananda lineage in India, as well as the teachings of T. Krishnamacharya through Vinyasa with Ryan Leier, Vinyasa Krama with Srivatsa Ramaswami and Ashtanga under the guidance of Danny Paradise, Kevin set foot onto the path of Sadhana. Now, with great respect and reverence for his teachers and the vast collective wisdom of Yoga, Kevin shares the ancient Yogic and Shamanic traditions he’s learned in a non-dogmatic, accessible way that speaks to the modern Yogi. Kevin believes that this practice can be for everyone and shares practical tools, insight and guidance to help us overcome obstacles in order to grow into the brightest, fullest and most authentic expressions of ourselves.

Andrew Fredericks Karma Teachers Faculty

Andrew Fredericks

Yoga found Andrew through adversity in 2012 during a life changing experience of solitude. Through his leadership at Karma Teachers from 2017 to 2020, participating in 14 teacher trainings with over 300 students, this accelerated experience contributed to the growth personally and professionally. Learning through hardship has been the guiding force since youth and continues to serve as a primary source of learning. He brings authenticity and humbleness to his teachings. Consciousness is the lens when teaching and learning. Andrew strives to show up as a student that is learning to teach and is not afraid to grow from mistakes. Andrew is dedicated to Karma Yoga and is service oriented. He hopes to bring more emphasis on our karmas in today’s world through self inquiry and discussion. He currently volunteers a part of his life to work with incarcerated people and parolees as they transition into society.

Lucy Liu Karma Teachers Faculty

Lucy Liu

Lucy first experienced yoga when she was in her university in China, and she fell in love with this practice.

She finished her 200 hour YTT training with Karma teachers and from the course she has understood a lot about how different poses work on different bodies. And she is happy to share her knowledge with more people.

Beside yoga, Lucy is also a piano teacher, Mandarin teacher, and belly dancer. She thinks there are a lot of similarities in yoga, language, music, and dance.

Hector Johnson - Karma Teachers

Hector Johnson

As a storyteller I am committed to the telling of experiences via words, silence, movement, and canvas... therein as I play, play, play I am able to convey the nuances that long to communicate with you and I.

As a yogi guide it is my pleasure to serve others in committing to the process of knowing themselves by themselves with themselves for themselves; via intentionally focusing their breath and using that breath to move the energy (their life force) around/ throughout the body.

Sue Dodds Karma Teachers Faculty

Sue Dodds

Sue is a 200 RYT, as well as a registered nurse of 35-years, with a chronic pain management focus during the latter part of her career. Through her practice, as well as her personal journey through life, she has seen how Vipassana meditation, Yoga practice and Christian beliefs have melded, uniting her mind, body and spirit, bringing her to a place wherein more peace, joy and laughter reside. Sue understands how the effects of pain and disability can alter one’s sense of wellbeing—driving her desire to walk with them in their own journey.  She strives to make the word “barrier” nonexistent.

Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self. —The Bhagavat Gita

“Inhale and God approaches you.  Hold the inhalation and God remains with you. Exhale, and you approach God. Hold the exhalation and surrender to God.” —Krishnamacharya

Candice A Karma Teachers Faculty

Candice A

Candice began doing yoga in 2015 while she was on the road to recovery.

Yoga was a safe place for her to connect with community and feel supported. She felt illuminated and inspired by the benefits yoga provided her and she wanted to be able to bring that to others.

In 2017 she embarked on a teacher training with Karma Teachers and has since been offering free/by donation yoga to help raise money for organizations that are dear to her heart. She can be found spreading love and building relationships in Vancouvers’ Downtown Eastside, nestled in nature, laughing with friends or dancing under the moonlight.

Her intuitive classes change with the seasons and are accessible for all levels.

Mya Torres Karma Teachers Faculty

Mya Torres

Mya discovered the magic of yoga during rehabilitation after experiencing a traumatic accident.

In solitude was when Mya was unable to move that she realized how sublime life is. Things that were taken for granted suddenly turned into miracles.

In Mya’s yoga classes, you can expect an experience filled with reflections that will allow you to feel supported in your practice. For Mya, yoga has nothing to do with postures, but rather with the connection we create with ourselves. Know that you will be welcomed with love.

When she completed her 200hr YTT with Karma Teachers, she was surprised to find it an incredibly healing experience, allowing her body to feel and release her grief. This inspired her to have hope and to further seek somatic processes in an integrative approach toward trauma recovery. She is now certified as an integrative trauma coach and she is also in postgraduate psychiatry residency.
